Pups at Play

Pups at Play

Regular price £0.00

During the first world war, more so than ever, flying machines had their own handling characteristics. The Sopwith Pup was no exception and was quite a breath of fresh air with regards handling compared to its similar looking counterpart the Sopwith Camel. This resulted in far less deaths. The Pup was far more stable and compared to the Camel, a pleasure to fly.
Skies are so important to me in any sort of composition weather it be a landscape or an aviation painting. I try to give the impression of being actually in the sky, and in this particular case I have concentrated on sculpturing the cloudscape to have foreground, middleground, and background with the peak of the middleground cloud extending above the horizon line.

My print depicts two Pups in this sky having a bit of fun during a quiet spell in the hostilities.
