With the new show season to be planned for, the usual events will be accommodated but with one significant change. With the Olympics this year, there is a ‘No Fly Zone’ around London as a result of the terrorism threat. The timing and extent of the ‘No Fly Zone’ does affect Flying Legends this year. Flying Legends has now been moved to an earlier date which happens to coincide with Waddington. Unfortunately we can’t go to both. We have decided to go to Waddington as there is only one Waddington per year, and we want to secure our premier pitch site. What a blow though, terrorism has caught up with me!

My print ‘Too Low?...’Too Slow’ has now been signed by Sgt. Pilot Eric Quinney. This Litho. print represents a ‘Special Film Edition’ limited to only 150 (as depicted below.) Eric flew one of the Lancasters, ‘P-Popsie’ in the original 1955 Dambuster film. I am really pleased I have discovered him as it does add something a little different to a signature portfolio, and could be considered an appropriate conclusion to any Dambuster art collection. Eric has never signed anything in the past, but will be attending my sales unit at Duxford during one of the shows later in the year. Notification of this will be placed on the website. This will not be a full blown official signing visit, but says he will be willing to sign anything if anyone brings items to sign. Text below signature reads- Sgt. Eric Quinney, pilot ‘P-Popsie’ Dam Buster film 1955. A quantity of signed prints has been donated to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
Print spec: image size 16” x 12”. O/A size 20” x 17”. Price, £70 + p&p @£4.55. Limited to 150. Litho Print.

I will be taking a trip out to the Derwent Dam in North Derbyshire to get some references for my next painting on the next nice day. It will be added to a clients collection depicting the Dams build up to final attack. In fact I have never been to the Dam so I am looking forward to it immensely and am sure I will be bringing some valuable info back.

An original oil of a 73 Sq. Hurricane IIc taking off with a 601 Sqn. Spitfire Vb in the Desert during WWII. Both these aircraft belonged to 244 Wing with their operating airfields next to each other. A little detail work has to be done to complete including foreground texture to enhance the sandy effect.
Canvas size 36” x 20”. POA.

Things are a little quiet at the moment so not a lot to report, but I like to touch base every couple of months and keep the ole site alive!
Drop in and have a chat at any show if you are passing by and don’t forget Eric!
Till next time….Robin.
